Getting Settled

Posted on Mon Jan 17th, 2011 @ 9:05am by Lieutenant Commander Aiden Roberts (KIA) & Lieutenant Walter Suder

Mission: Hippocratic Hijacking
Location: USS Arizona
Timeline: After Orbital Oncology

Exiting the turbolift, Aiden pushed his neck side to side eliciting a loud cracking sound. His body was tired, he needed coffee, and he needed a nice long shower. Deep in thought, he walked down the corridor towards the computer's location of quarters. Working under Cowell might be brutal, but the realization of the scenery onboard might prove the perfect distraction from the day to day grind seemed so much more appealing, as he exchanged friendly grin and nod with a young female Ensign in teal passing by.

"Oh hey Doctor...?" Roberts trailed off as he passed a familiar face from surface.

Walt Suder passed by and looked over his shoulder. He stopped and turn around, "Yes? It's Counselor. I'm not a doctor, but thank you. How are you fitting in?"

"Can't complain I suppose... Just comin' down from meeting the ole' man upstairs... A real treat. I can foresee the lines of young junior officers waiting outside your office now." Aiden joked, still now sure how to act around his peer. He wasn't really fond of those in his profession. It was far from anything personal, but the way he saw things were his problems were just that - his. When he was younger he had a bad experience or two with folks like this, and while he would never hold it against Suder, he would be weary nonetheless.

"That's good I guess. I'm on my way to meet the old man myself. Any tips?"

Roberts wasn't really sure what advice he could offer. The meeting was brief, and reminded him of a dental appointment gone bad. "Yea. Avoid the mud I track in on the carpet, he may blame you." Smiling to himself, Aiden had the weird feeling he would be putting in a work order for that after the old man noticed. "And guard your loins..., he pulls no punches."

"Thanks. I guess." Suder took a few steps before looking over his shoulder, "lunch later?"

Aiden suddenly felt him stomach growl like an agitated tiger. He hadn't realized how hungry he actually was. "It'll be a little later in day, I was lucky enough to be selected to go planetside again. I'll find ya when I come back, apparently the chef on this boat isn't all that bad."
