Ready, Set, Infiltrate!

Posted on Mon Feb 14th, 2011 @ 3:53pm by Captain Nathan Cowell MD

Mission: Hippocratic Hijacking
Location: Bridge, USS Arizona
Timeline: Shortly after 'Hi-Ho, Hi-Ho, off to sneak we go!'

The USS Arizona dropped out of warp not far from the large gas giant that had the moon they were planning to visit tidal locked in orbit around it. The bridge of the Arizona was now filled with the junior officers of the various departments that still had people left in the departments to man consoles. Lt. Idrani was the only member of his Senior Staff that wasn't going anywhere. 'At least I'll have a seasoned pilot...' Nathan mused silently before turning to the Security Petty Officer manning the Tactical Console.

"Hail the station, let's see what kind of welcome we get. And keep your eyes on those tactical readouts, if anyone so much as charges up a hand phaser, I want to know about it," the Captain ordered.

"Aye sir," the man nodded, activating the appropriate commands.

Nathan swiveled back around just in time to catch the star field blink away and become replaced by the face of a rather unhappy looking Orion, who was either in charge or got badgered into taking his hail.

"What do you want, Starfleet? Your kind isn't exactly welcome here..." the man said, no hint of any attempts to cover up his disdain in his tone.

"We're here looking for some stuff... you got some stuff man? I heard you guys were holdin' all the good stuff, and with my pockets being just overloaded with latinum I just don't have a use for, I figured this would be a good top for me and the crew. I mean, if your merchants don't like latinum, I'll take my money and hit the road..." Nathan said, doing a very admirable job of impersonating a hippy.

The face before Nathan contorted in a mixture of confusion and thought. The confusing was no doubt borne of the colloquialisms that Nathan preferred to use, though that contemplative look that graced his rather ugly and scared face gave Nathan the impression that he wasn't going to pass over anyone's offer to drop some latinum.

"How many guests will you be sending over?" the Orion's lips curled in a greed induced smirk.

"About a dozen... that's not a problem, is it?" Nathan replied.

"No, not at all, as long as they all have latinum," came the reply.

"Oh, I have stores of the stuff. All you have to do is send me the totals and I'll send it to your personal account," Capt. Cowell smirked.

The thought of being personally given the money for any purchases made by the Starfleet Officers seemed too good an opportunity for him not to exploit, "Very well, I will speak to my merchants. Anything you buy I will personally ensure you get at a good price."

"I'm glad we have an understanding. Expect my people presently... though, you will understand if they're armed. I don't like my purchase agents harassed and threatened. Precautionary measure only, I assure you. If you need some kind of permit fee for that, just tack it on the back of the bill," Nathan said as he leaned back.

"I think we can make some manner of arrangement. Welcome to Sutekh Station," the Orion said before the link was terminated.

"Cowell to DeVries, I paved the way. Don't expect the welcome wagon, but you can at least move about freely. Oh, and if you see something you like, put it on the tab," Nathan said after hitting the small comm command key on his arm rest.
