Self Analysis

After making two blunders in introducing myself to Major DeVries and Lieutenant (JG) Lischka, then my major blunder with the Captain, I think it is time to reorganize how I approach things.
I am a StarFleet Security Investigations Officer and it is time that I investigate myself and determine how I must approach others in the future. Thus far, I feel upon looking back that I have many areas which I need to improve upon.
I shall take more breaths; I shall not attempt to say everything that I can do to every person that I meet. I shall conduct myself on the professional level that I was trained to do.
After four years on the U.S.S. Victory, I find myself upon a StarFleet warship among a crew that seems far too laid back for such an assignment. Perhaps it is only the sheath that I am seeing and the real blades lie beneath that relaxed surface.
In my personal view, I have committed blunders which I must attempt to rectify. I will prove myself to Major DeVries and Lieutenant Liscka, and I will endeavor to not make myself look like an idiot in front of the Captain. That encounter left me feeling small and insignificant, but his final words to me took the majority of the sting from his all-too-true words.
I will not fail myself again, nor will I open my mouth to volunteer all in the space of one breath. I will treat my fellow StarFleet personnel with respect and earn their respect in kind.
This is my personal log and reminder that I am human and that I have faults. By recognizing and analyzing these faults, I will make myself better.
