Lt. JG Miomar Barr finished making sure that he had everything that he would need for his desperately needed vacation on Pacifica. He hooked the reinforced bungee cable and backup to his ankles and gave a nod to the shuttle craft pilot. "Let me know when we hit three hundred feet, crewman."
He strapped his backpack to his chest and then put the parachute on and took a breath as the shuttle pilot took the craft to the requested height, shaking his head. Personally, he thought the Assistant Chief of Engineering was nuts, but he wasn't about to say that out loud. "One hundred meters, Lieutenant Barr."
Miomar grinned at the crewman and gave a nod, then opened the door. "Just hold her steady and what ever you do, don't take off until I give you a call on the communicator."
"Yes, sir." The crewman replied, anxious to get on with his own vacation.
Laughing, Miomar made sure that the cables were secure, then jumped out of the shuttle craft. "I'm freeeeeeee!" He sailed in free fall until he reached the extent of the bungee's limits, then laughed hysterically as he was pulled back up half the distance again, then turned and unleashed the clip to the bungee Waiting a a few moments as he stabilized, he pulled his chute and drifted down to the surface of the planet.
