With the newly arrived Ensign Shenk finally settled and placed on her official docket, Stace S. DeVries took the time to relax a bit as she skimmed over the latest security reports coming in from the Galvarian Corridor. Happy for once that she decided to allow someone else to handle the holodeck training scenario the red head moved from her desk towards the replicator and ordered a glass of kava juice, secretly wishing it could have been springwine instead. Taking a long sip of the beverage the Major moved towards the door of her office and gazed out onto the floor, noting the figure of Lieutenant Goodman.

"Afternoon Lieutenant... keeping yourself busy?"

Sophie looked toward the major and nodded as she replied. "Yes, Ma'am, familiarizing myself with the department approach and duties. According to the roster, I'm with the Tactical section, so i was finding out as much as I could about this class. Especially with its ability to split into sections."

She paused, and then continued, "By the way, I just wanted to thank you and the captain for having me assigned to the Arizona. With all the space station duty under my feet, I was really looking forward to a possible shipboard assignment."

"Well, we're both glad to have you among us. It's not easy these days to find someone enthusiastic about their particular field of training... and speaking of that," Stace retorted as she stepped out of the doorway and moved closer in the direction of the other woman. "Just shortly ago I was in a meeting with Lieutenant Roberts and the Captain discussing an interesting idea. If it clears operations with no issue I was wondering if you would be interested in accompanying Petty Officer Price aboard a small vessel that would be trailing us along our way to the corridor. Short of myself, I suspect you would be the best candidate for the job."

Sophie considered what she had just heard. It was certainly an interesting proposition, and she wondered what it entailed. Lord knows that she had done enough surveillance work to learn not to be noticed. And that was what this seemed to be. She was flattered that the Major had apparently done more than peruse her file.

"Certainly," the Aborigine replied cheerfully. "It sounds very intriguing. When would you want me ready?"

"I'm waiting to hear back from operations but knowing Lieutenant Roberts the way I suspect I do I don't believe it should be too much longer. Certainly before we leave dock. I don't expect too much trouble but considering the area of space we're heading into I'd rather be safe than sorry," Stace admitted as she eyed the Lieutenant. "Do you have any business you might need to attend to prior to our departure?"

"No, Ma'am," calmly replied the security officer. "I've already moved on board, and been assigned a cabin. I'm just getting familiarized with the ships deck arrangement."

Stace nodded. "Sounds good then. I think we're more or less set on our side. If you'd like I'll inform you the moment we're ready."

"Certainly," answered Sophie. "Thank you, I look forward to the opportunity. " Inwardly she wondered what the assignment might entail, but she wasn't too concerned. What would happen, would happen.
