Sharing the dirt

Mission: Hippocratic Hijacking
Location: Captain's Ready Room, USS Arizona
Timeline: Following Orbital Oncology

Captain Nathan Cowell had recently found himself visited by many of the missing members of his staff, which brought their numbers up significantly. It also meant that, being near to fully mission capable, they were in a much better position to address the issue at hand. Having discovered that the planet was in desperate need of the medical supplies that had been stolen, and the fact that the Arizona herself carried very little in the way of replacements, the hunt for those that had attacked the North Star was swiftly becoming a priority.

"Cowell to Major DeVries, could you come on up here to my office and talk to me a minute about your investigation?" Nathan said after tapping his commbadge.

Having already left the confines of her own security offices on deck seven several minutes prior, the Major took no notice to anyone possibly standing in her way of entering the Captain's ready room and therefore took it upon herself to just pop right in. "Way ahead of you old timer," the woman remarked only mere seconds after the commbadge communication. "However, it seems I might just have some answers for you."

"Excellent," Cowell said, "Take a seat and tell me what you've found out."

Flopping down into the nearest chair, Stace clasped her hands together and eyed the man intently. "Seems we're dealing with some rather low lying smugglers based out of a raggedy outpost near the edge of the Neutral Zone. Seems their activities have increased a bit lately... enough to draw the attention of some rather secretive organizations if you catch my drift."

Cowell nodded as he leaned back, "And you think our pirates might have made a stop there? And was this before or after the attack?"

"Seems to be the logical answer," Stace retorted. "The type of weaponry these pirates used against the North Star wasn't your run of the mill everyday sort. If nothing else it's definitely a place to start."

"Indeed... and if they use this port as something more than an isolated stop, we might be able to worm some information on who made the hit and where they might hole up at. Any other leads that might help us nail down who this could be?" Nathan inquired.

Stace took a moment to herself to debate whether or not she wanted to go with her gut instinct. "Nothing I can prove right now. Speculations, I have tons... evidence... not so much. I'll work on that."

"Alright then. Let me know what you come up with while I send our science teams and medical crew down to the planet to make an assessment of the situation. Oh, and if you wouldn't mind, I want you to assign someone to escort Ms. S'anra while she's on the planet. As much as she professes to want to help us, I'm not entirely convinced right now that she is one hundred percent with us and not working for herself," Cowell requested.

Stace snickered at the thought of issuing the Romulan a babysitter. "Of course... I'll take care of it. Anything else?"

"No, I think that's it for now if you're still hunting down leads. Let me know when you get something concrete," Doc replied.

The Major stood abruptly and nodded before turning back towards the door she had previously entered. "You'll be the first person I tell... more than likely."

Exiting back onto the bridge, Stace looked around a bit before heading into the turbolift. Next stop? It was anyone's guess.
